As I had to walk home the last half mile or so this evening, it gave me the chance to capture our Parish Church complete with its carpet of snow in the churchyard. Normally I just pass it on the Bus like I did this morning but I was pleased with the results after a little editing...

On my way home from work now. The snow's really starting to come down heavily now. Earlier, while I was waiting for the bus, I took this shot which I b&w on the iPhone...
... On a larger screen, you may be able to see the snow flakes starting to fall. d:0|

First one of 2010. Only one other person here besides the attendant right now. (Who is re-filling the change machine). He's standing by the door, talking on his phone. Earlier many, mostly elderly, folk were here emptying their tumble dryers.
This is the last day of my five day break from work so it's chores of course. New Years Eve, we all stated in and rose a glass at midnight to toast the coming of the next decade. At 82, my Mum has now lived in 9 of them and the changes seen by her in that time must be incredible to comprehend. At a mere 47, I've seen some amazing changes since I started school in the 60's. I embrace most new innovations. Most of my fannish friends and fellow LJers are also quite techy minded but in years of working in retail only, I've met many peeps my age or even a bit younger who find anything microchip based, unfathomable and only use the mainstreem devices like basic mobiles and are happy for everything else they own in their lives to be analog or mechanical versions and are always harking on about how simpler things were in their youth!
My perception is that the newer the device, the easier it is to use for the average Joe. The Apple iPhone, for instance, came with no instructional booklet in the box. (Unlike my previous Nokia N95, which had a small novella). I know iPhone tutorials are available online but my view is, 'If one cannot work out how a device opperates in 10 mins or so, well the makers haven't made it right!' Roll on speech recognition and voice activation in everyday devices. Everyone should be able to use them then as most people don't have a problem talking! {*_*}

ONly just got a chance to upload some snaps I took on my Lumix over the last two weeks or so. Of which the last post is an example of some. Here's another that I took out my bedroom window just before Christmas which is Photoshopped just a little...
